News from Gothenburg: University of Arts participated in the 2025-2027 ESCI Champions kick-off meeting
The University of Arts in Belgrade has been selected as one of the European Student Card Initiative (ESCI) champions for the implementation of the Erasmus Without Paper (EWP) initiative for the period 2025–2027.
This prestigious title is awarded by the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC) of the European Commission to higher education institutions that lead in the digitalization and enhancement of student mobility in Europe. A total of 123 institutions from 30 countries participated in the call, reflecting the high level of interest and commitment of the academic community to developing digital solutions within the Erasmus+ programme. Being an ESCI champion means that the institution has successfully implemented digital solutions for Erasmus+ exchanges, has become a role model for other higher education institutions developing digital processes, and has been recognized as a leader in advancing student mobility through digital means.

On the occasion of receiving this recognition, the University of Arts in Belgrade participated in the 2025-2027 ESCI Champions kick-off meeting, held on September 9, 2025 at the University of Gothenburg. The representative of our university was Goran Bogunović, International relations office associate. The participants discussed how to support the further uptake of the ESCI at European and national level.
Throughout the next two years, we will:
– Share testimonials of our ESCI implementation journey
– Act as multipliers in our countries by attending and organising key events
– Support our peers in adopting ESCI through sharing of best practices
– Follow the work of the 32 ESCI Champions and how we contribute to making student mobility simpler, smarter & more connected.
