Erasmus+ Mobility for Teaching at:
Conservatorio Superior de Música de Vigo
From March 22nd to 28th, 2026, I had the privilege of conducting a teaching mobility and masterclass at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Vigo. This enriching five-day experience involved intensive collaboration with twenty students, where individual masterclasses allowed for a deeply personalized pedagogical approach.
Pedagogical Focus & Artistic Exchange
The core of our sessions centered on tonal refinement and the resolution of specific technical challenges. Beyond technical proficiency, we delved into the nuances of interpretation and stylistic approach through the repertoire the students performed. These sessions were characterized by an exceptionally vibrant and stimulating atmosphere, fostering a high level of engagement and a meaningful exchange of ideas during our post-lecture discussions.
Drawing from my doctoral research on the clarinet in the works of Serbian composers, I took the opportunity to introduce the students to this specific repertoire, sharing both archival recordings and sheet music to broaden their musical horizons.
Institutional Insights & Collaboration
I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the hospitality and professional synergy shared with the Director of the Conservatory, Esteban Valverde, who is also a distinguished professor of clarinet. Our dialogues regarding methodology and curriculum development were incredibly insightful.
A particular highlight was observing their unique examination format. By requiring students to perform both a contemporary solo work and a cyclic composition, the conservatory ensures a comprehensive mastery of diverse musical eras and genres—a practice I found both impressive and effective.
I am deeply honored to have contributed to this project and to have mentored such a dedicated group of emerging artists in Vigo. The logistical organization provided by our hosts was impeccable. I extend my profound gratitude to Director Esteban Valverde, as well as to professors Roberto Carlos and Asterio Leiva, for their warm welcome and collegiality.
Finally, I would like to extend my special thanks to Ivana Mijanović, the International Relations Coordinator at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. Her expert guidance and seamless coordination throughout the mobility were instrumental in the success of this visit.
